EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award Methodology

The founder and president of the Yob Family Foundation, JAY Management Corporation, and other businesses based in Tampa, Florida, Jonathan Yob is a skilled executive. Known for his ability to develop strong teams and his successful community fundraising techniques, Jonathan Yob of Tampa has won several honors, including the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Established over three decades ago, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award is given to exceptional business leaders around the world. These individuals are either executives responsible for daily business operations or the founders of their companies. They typically have held this leadership role for at least two years.

Eligible individuals are nominated for the award by employees, bankers, attorneys, spouses, or anyone else associated with the nominee. EY also accepts self-nominations. Submitting a nomination does not cost anything, and executives’ applications are seen only by EY, the national and regional judges panels, and sponsors of the award.

To select the winners of the Entrepreneur of the Year award, nominees are categorized, and a judging panel considers the strategic direction, innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, and market impact of each nominee. Social responsibility and personal integrity are also included in this evaluation.
