Jonathan “Jon” Yob, the founder and president of JAY Management Corporation and several other business enterprises, is also dedicated to philanthropy. Leading the Yob Family Foundation as president, he supports child welfare around the Tampa, Florida area. Jonathan Yob also personally volunteers with and supports many organizations in Tampa, such as the Friends of Joshua House Foundation, which develops resources to support children living at Joshua House.
A safe haven for children who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected, Joshua House provides a therapeutic residential care program in a family-like environment. While concerned individuals can directly support the organization through internships, volunteerism, and donations, Joshua House also hosts several fundraising events, including its Back-to-School drive.
Held annually, Friends of Joshua House’s Back-to-School Drive provides children with clothes and school supplies for the academic year. Since many of these kids arrive at Joshua House with nothing, these supplies are essential for improving their quality of life. Clothing is one of the most essential items that they need; specifically, unisex polo shirts, khaki pants, and shorts for school uniforms. The children also need personal items, like socks and bras.
In terms of school supplies, backpacks and face masks are two of the most needed items at Joshua House. Mini hand sanitizers are also essential, as are thumb drives, earbuds, and plastic folders.
Individuals can either donate these items directly to the organization or make a financial donation to the drive. A gift of $50 buys school supplies and a backpack for one child.
