An established presence in Tampa’s business community, Jonathan “Jon” Yob has a focus on assisting worthy organizations through the Yob Family Foundation. One major emphasis of Jonathan Yob through his foundation has been enabling fundraising efforts on behalf of Friends of Joshua House Foundation, Inc. (FOJH). The organization fundraises on behalf of a vital community asset that assists Tampa children who have experienced abandonment, abuse, and neglect.
In March 2020, FOJH successfully acquired the Joshua House property from Children’s Home Society of Florida for $2.625 million. This transaction reflected a core mandate of the Foundation, which was established in 2004 as a way of ensuring the long-term survival of Joshua House amidst an uncertain future.
For nearly three decades, Joshua House has maintained a caring setting for at-risk children. Set on 11 acres, it encompasses a learning center, a playground, a therapeutic clinic, and five residential homes. Through its sustained efforts, many vulnerable foster care children in Hillsborough County have been set on a path toward healing, personal growth, and academic success. The FOJH purchase will enable Joshua House to continue its life-enriching mission for the foreseeable future.
