One impactful YFF effort has centered on support of the Sheriffs Youth Ranches, which seek to stem delinquency by instilling a positive “work, study, play, and pray” ethos. Established in 1957, the ranches encompass residential care, a summer camp, and family services. Over the decades, the nonprofit has been credited with assisting in excess of 165,000 children and families through its comprehensive programs spanning seven locations statewide.
YFF’s involvement has included sponsoring an initiative that brought 40 youths to The Florida Aquarium to explore a range of educational and interactive exhibits. Another effort it has funded centered on bringing at-risk kids to Amalie Arena events such as Tampa Bay Lightning matches.
In 2015, Mr. Yob was honored for his sustained efforts in assisting children who, having endured abuse and neglect, find socializing challenging by receiving Florida Sheriffs Association’s lifetime honorary membershi.
