ZooTampa at Lowry Park Helps Sustain Wild Animal Species

The recipient of an EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award and other honors, Jonathan “Jon” Yob has developed high-performing teams across multiple Tampa, Florida, companies, largely in the investment field. Additionally, Jonathan Yob is the president of the Yob Family Foundation, where he concentrates on serving the educational, health-care, and social-welfare needs of youth and families. His charity has also contributed to local organizations with international impacts like ZooTampa at Lowry Park, which houses a range of animals in species-appropriate habitats.

With a dedication to conservation, part of the zoo’s mission is to rescue and rehabilitate injured wildlife and preserve species. Its endeavors to this end include programs involving medical care, captive breeding, and trauma treatment to save the lives of wild animals and support efforts toward strengthening wild populations. The zoo also engages in operations in the field, assisting its global conservation partners with efforts such as conducting wildlife-population monitoring and offering veterinary support to wounded wildlife. Among the animal species that ZooTampa conservation teams work with are manatees, African apes, and the endangered Puerto Rican crested toad.
